James Larry
“PAPAW” Carter, 65, of Rising Fawn, passed away Feb. 17. He was a retired
commercial painter in the Chattanooga area. He was of the Holiness faith. He
was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by his wife, Patricia J. Harmon Carter; parents, Robert and Frances
Floyd; sisters, Debbie Hayes and Pam Phillips.
Survivors are
his daughter, Tish Stephens and son-in-law, Brad Stephens; brothers, Kent
Floyd, Kevin Floyd and brother at heart, Mike Combs; grandson, Lebron Stephens
and granddaughter–in-law, Whitney and granddaughter, Letrece Hodge and
grandson-in-law, B.J ; great–grandchildren, Taylin Hodge and Isaiah Hodge.
Funeral
services will be at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel of Moore Funeral
Home with Brother J. L. Black officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive
Cemetery.
Visitation is
Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Curran, 53, of Henagar, Ala., passed away Feb. 11 at Gadsden Regional Medical
Center.
She was
preceded in death by her father, Harland Riddle; and mother, Ailene Love.

Henagar, Ala.; nephew, Russell Lewis, Jr.; nieces, Tanya Love and Adele Mayne.

Geraldine
“Gerri” Gross, 87, of Trenton, passed away Feb. 14 at her home. She was a
member of Trenton United Methodist Church.
She was
preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Harold Gross; parents, Noah and
Susie Mobbs; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors
include her daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Garland Meeks, Cindy and
Randy Robertson, all of Trenton; grandchildren and their spouses, Bethany and
Joe Sewell, Erin and Paul Flatt, all of Rising Fawn, Jarrett Robertson and
Justin Robertson, both of Trenton; great-grandchildren, Jaycie Sewell, Ashlyn
Flatt and Avery Flatt, all of Rising Fawn, Abria Robertson and Ethan Robertson,
both of Trenton; several nieces and nephews.

A.C. “Red”
Johnson, 82, of Rossville, passed away Feb. 12. He was born in Chattanooga and
retired from Cobble Tufting Machine Co. after 30 plus year of service. He was
of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded
in death by his parents, Benjamin and Myrtle Johnson.
Survivors
include his wife of 21 years, Marie Brodie Johnson; children, Debbie Coppinger,
Joan Abbott, all of Rossville, Wanda Mitchell, Penny Cordell both of LaFayette,
Tom Brodie of Raleigh, N.C., Larry Brodie of Ringgold; sisters, Gertrude Oliver
of Trenton, Louise Coats of Hooker; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren,

McSpadden, 93, of New Salem, born June 1, 1919 passed away, Feb. 15. She was a
resident of New Salem for over 50 years and was a member of New Salem Baptist
Church.
She was
preceded in death by her husband, Norton McSpadden Sr.: son, Norton McSpadden
Jr.: and daughter, Mildred Hales.
Survivors
include her daughter, Rebecca McSpadden and sister, Cybil Lindsey; two
grandsons, William David Hales and Alan Lee Hales; nieces and nephews.

JACK MURRAY, JR.
Jack D. Murray,
Jr., 52, of Chattanooga, passed away at Hospice of Chattanooga Center on Feb.
13 of lung cancer. Born in Clearwater, Fla. Oct. 12, 1960, he was a graduate of
Hillsboro High School, Tampa, Fla. He was a personal trainer for physical
fitness instructor. A veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was preceded
in death by his father, Jack D. Murray, Sr.; son, Jack D. Murray III (Apollo);
grandparents, Henry Clay Toomey, Della Swafford Toomey, Paul and Mamie Murray.
Survivors
include his mother, Nelleda (Leda) Murray; sister, Terri Lynn Renegar and her
husband Greg Renegar of Ooltewah, Tenn.; nephew, Mikhail Renegar; niece,
Natalie Renegar; many cousins.

services were Feb. 15 at National Cemetery with Bill McGinnis officiating.
