Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Students In Class Monday

Dade County schools will be in session Feb. 18.

Due to several weather make-up days the Dade County Board of Education has decided to use the Presidents’ Day holiday as a make–up day for students.

The original 2012-13 school calendar had students receiving Presidents’ Day off but that day will now be used to make up one of the days missed because of bad weather.

DCHS Hosting Workshop

Georgia Student Finance Commission's Ben Meadows will be at Dade County High School Feb. 14th speaking on financial aid and scholarships and will present a Powerpoint on filling out the FAFSA form.

All DCHS seniors and juniors and their parents/guardians are urged to attend. Parents of sophomores and freshmen are invited to attend as well.

This meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the DCHS auditorium.

For more information contact the school at (706) 657-7517.

Star Gazing Is Tomorrow

Dade’s favorite amateur astronomer, Ned Smith, will bring his StarGaze project back to the Courthouse Square Thursday at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The public is invited to bundle up and come out for a free peek through one of Smith’s powerful telescopes.

Blood Drive Is Feb. 27th

The Dade County Sheriff’s office is hosting the Bloodmobile Feb. 27 from 10:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30-4 p.m.

The Bloodmobile will be parked in Veterans Park on the Courthouse Square.

Please make plans to donate.
