Bill Marshall

Community activist Bill Marshall died Saturday at his Dade County home.  He was 82.

Born William P. Marshall on July 22, 1930, to the late John and Philiona Marshall, he moved to Dade in retirement in 1986 and ultimately became involved in virtually every civic group in the county and the surrounding areas. He was an active member in 21 different clubs and organizations and was a charter member of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority.

Marshall, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Slygo United Methodist Church, is survived by his wife, Margaret, and sons, Rodney Kyle and Donald Adair Marshall, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A private family burial was held.
