Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross reported last week two break-ins at convenience stores in the county.

On Jan. 16 at approximately 4:20 a.m. the Sheriff’s department was called to Trenton Convenience and Gas on Highway 136 west on Sand Mountain.

Approximately 15 minutes later they were called to the B-Mart on Highway 301 at the Alabama state line.

Someone had used a hammer to break the glass on the front door and entered the business and took a small amount of change.

After reviewing the video it appears that the subject is a white male around 5’7 or 8, weighing approximately 200 to 215 pounds.

It is suspected that the same individual may have been involved in both robberies.

The Sheriff’s department has asked anyone that has seen any suspicious behavior at either location to call.

At press time the investigation was continuing.
