The intense heat wave that has gripped the area over the past few weeks was at least temporarily ended Monday afternoon when severe thunderstorms rolled through the area. While little damage was reported, the two inches of rain that fell on most of the area certainly helped cool it down and make it bearable again. This shot of
the courthouse square was made around 4:30 p.m. when it looked more
like 10 p.m. More rain and thunderstorms are expected for the remainder of the week. |
