State Representative Martin Scott (R- Rossville) announced that he is seeking a third term in the Georgia House of Representatives.

Over the years, Rep. Scott has earned a reputation for hard work, dedication to conservative values, and an independent voting record. Martin Scott puts Northwest Georgia above powerful special interests.

At times, Scott has proven to be somewhat of a maverick and has bucked House leadership. Scott commented, “Although we should be reasonable on matters of preference, we should never compromise on matters of principle.”

Scott applies a four-part conservative test to legislation: “Does the bill lower taxes, cut the size of government, promote personal responsibility, and provide liberty and justice for all Georgia citizens?”

Martin Scott is the House Chairman of the Taxpayer Protection Caucus, and he remains committed to true tax reform. He will continue his fight to eliminate the income tax and restrict new government spending.

Rep. Scott also defends conservative Biblical values that Northwest Georgians cherish. This often means standing against liberal special interests in Atlanta.

Martin Scott has led they way in pro-life leadership here in Georgia. Rep. Scott proposed the historic Human Life Amendment to the Georgia Constitution, and he will continue working for legal protection of unborn babies.

Rep. Scott grew up here in Northwest Georgia and since 2005 has served the people of House District 2 – this includes all of Dade and most of Walker County.

Martin is honored to serve the people of Northwest Georgia. He and his wife, Jane, have four daughters and are members First Presbyterian Church of Fort Oglethorpe.

Rep. Scott concluded his announcement by stating, “I ask you for your vote. Let’s continue the fight for lower taxes, less government, and traditional family values. Jane and I look forward to visiting with you and your family on the campaign trail in the days and months to come. If we can be of service to you, please give us a call at home.” To contact Martin Scott at home, call (706) 861-7045.
