(RIGHT) - The inside of Brocks has changed as dramatically as the outside. Jerry Brock, standing in the new dinning room, says they are planning for an April 1st opening.
With new management, new staff and a new owner, Brock’s Restaurant will be reopening soon according to Jerry Brock. Brock and his father Gary Brock will be managing the new building which will include the restaurant and office space in the front and storage units in the back.
The family style restaurant will feature a menu that is basically the same as before with a few changes. Steak and seafood night will be on Friday and Saturday and the menu the rest of the week has a few menu items that are different.
Brock said there have been some major changes to the building which was completely destroyed by a fire.
The restaurant has been made deeper with a waiting area and will hold 90 people.
“It is a 100 percent new building,” Brock said. “It is a completely new structure that is handicap accessible.”
The building will include big screen TV’s for the customers, a stereo system and a new waiting area with veranda style benches. Brock hopes to get historical pictures to put in the restaurant to put at each of the booths.
The Brock family purchased the building when it was Wright’s Restaurant. Wright’s had been doing business in the 1950’s, maybe earlier than that according to Brock. At one time, Brock thought, Wright’s was connected with a hotel/motel next door in the building that is now Case Hardware.
Brock did the work on the interior and the façade with the help of John Young, his site supervisor and a lot of other good people, Brock said. Brock and the licensed workers wired, plumbed and built the entire building. In the future, Brock hopes to tear down the bail bonding building next door and extend the building out for more office space and storage units.
For those interested in seeing the new restaurant and stopping in for a bite, look for the sign announcing that Brock’s is finally open.
“As soon as I can get open, I’m opening,” Brock said. “Come on down, come eat. We have good food at a good price.”
