(LEFT)- County Commissioner David Young
Today, I make my announcement to seek re-election for the District 3 County Commission seat. Over the last three years, it has been a pleasure serving the citizens of Dade County. I have volunteered with as many organizations as possible.
During this time, Angela and I became the proud parents of our first child Odessa Rianne Young. She has been a great joy and loves to attend the commission meetings. Recently, I graduated from the Carl Vincent Institute to become a certified county commissioner.
I have been a big supporter of great relations between the County Commission and the City of Trenton. I have kept in close contact with our legislative delegation, Sen. Jeff Mullis and Rep. Martin Scott. By doing this I have often voiced the concerns of Dade County. I have constantly voiced opposition to legislation that was good for Atlanta but not good for Dade County. I do not believe that Atlanta should tell Dade County how to run its business. I have tried to keep an open door policy and return constituents messages as soon as possible.
I hope to continue to serve the citizens’ of Dade County as commissioner and together we can bring respect to the office. In doing so I will continue to keep from name calling other commissioners in the papers and to only try and bring positive press in statements to the media.
I would like to take this time to thank all of the citizens who have voluntarily brought matters to my attention, those who have helped me with researching issues and letting me know their opinions.
